i was talking to a guy at potters on saturday he was not having much luck but he did tell me he got into a carp. he said he was quite shocked and could not get it through the hole had to put his arm down the hole to unhook it. lol. just woundering if anyone else has had any surprise fish storys like this one. :D

I was ice fishing on lake joe in Muskoka one time and caught a ling they are one Nasty looking fish

That was my buddy and he foul hooked it right behind the pelvic fin. It gave a heck of fight and because it was coming in sideways there was no way to bring it through the whole. It was my arm in the water unhooking it. It was a first for me. Later that day he fouled hooked what I believe was a burbot, I got my hand around the tail, it gave a quick shake and was gone. He told me this is how he catches salmon in the fall! Just kidding! :lol: No fish were or are ever intentionally foul hooked or snagged!

I will post some pics when I get to my computer of a gar I got thru the ice last year !! Was marking fish on bottom Talking to walleyewonder on the phone lol then noticed the screen light up with some bigger fish in the top half of the water column brought it up to them bam !! Fish on. Told walleyewonder to hold threw the phone down and pulled up a decent gar!!! Blew my mind

I was fishing glen ross on saturday and got a gar that was over 30 inches they fight awesome and are hell to get through the hole

Watched a buddy of mine hook and land a full roast chicken through the ice on Simcoe. Still had the saran wrap covering it lol.
