Just finished reading an article in the June issue of Mohawk Nation Drummer.[free newspaper] It says that Wayne Maracle sits on the BOQ Fisheries Advisories Council. Apparently him, other council members, + boiologist Kendall Dewey were largely responsible for the lower slot size removal. The MNR gave them very little recognition for their work. I say, hats off to them. Wayne also says the 4"-12" walleye population appears very healthy. He further says he has stocked 6,000,000 walleye in BOQ in the last few years + thinks the fish being caught around Foresters Island represent them. A very interesting article to read. Amazing how 1 person can do so much to help maintain the walleye population. This sure sounds like great news to me.
