Make sure it's plugged in on the back of the unit itself

The battery tells the charger its needs. In most cases I would say your batt is toast but if you have access to an other charger I would try that for sure. And if that fails a good place to buy a new batt is Canadian power and energy gotha street Trenton .good prices good service and many batt options like the 10 amp hr deep cycle I have in mine. Good luck

I had the identical issue 2 years back with my ice 35. The wall charger is crap with those units. I asked humminbird to send me a new one but they would only assist me if I was willing to send the original charger in to them. I did this and they sent me "another" one. It performed exactly the same as the one I sent to them. Was way unimpressed with Humminbird and I still am. I find that their customer service is severely lacking and not at all comparable from what I hear about Marcum and Vexilar.
In the end I just plug my Ice 35 into my 2amp trickle charger. I know this is not good for the battery but I am still able to get a very reliable 18-20 hours of use out of one charge. Have not had to purchase a new battery yet but I'm betting I soon will.

The sooner you recharge your battery after each trip the longer your battery will last. most batteries I see people using are SLA sealed lead acid type and this type not being a deep cycle would be more prone to damage by not recharge after each use. which very well could lead to stop start charging like has been mentioned above .How long would you car battery last if you set out to kill it every time you used it same type of battery in most flashers.

food for thought
