Hello there.

I just moved to town from the Niagara area, and I haven't dipped a line yet. :( I'm curious to know if there is any Musky fishing in the Bay (or anywhere in the immediate area).

Any responses would be appreciated :D

Welcome to Quintefishing.com's Beg N Brag Board.

All welcome - the more the merrier.

There's a Tackle Shop in Corbyville that specializes in Musky tackle and musky fishing. Pro Tackle, 1-888-442-7456,

http://www.protacklemuskyshop.com

They should be able to steer down the right path or to the right place for musky.

Not all the pleniful in the bay, but north of Belleville Moira Lake and Stoco Lake have good populations. The St. Lawrence River Thousand Islands area has some of the best Muskie fishing in the world. Collins Lake north of Kingston may still hold a few.

Muskie?? As far as anyone here knows or cares there are only pickerel in the Quinte. Good for you, this is one of the best spots in Ontario for most game fish. Muskie are an incidental catch in these waters. Stoco is a good place to catchem. The Quinte has some, but everyone fishes for what is the #1 in the Quinte waters, walleye. There is enough people towing crank baits around to catchem if they'er there. Hay bay go deep into the bay in the fall. Around Glenora "Glen isl." "Napanee R." "Moscote Bay".
Pike spawn a few weeks earlier than muskie and in the same spots. The young pike eat a lot of the little muskie. Tiger muskie are a cross-breed of pike and muskie and are sterile like splake trout. Me, I fall in line with the rest, walleye or bust. If you get any, post the picture love to see it.
Good fishin :) "slug"

Welcome to the board, The guys name in corbyville is Stacey and he is the go to guy in this area for Musky. Here's a link to his shop.http://www.protacklemuskyshop.com/

A few years back I along with my father-inlaw were jigging the bay bridge in Belleville along with a bunch of other boats and one of those boats hooks a hawg walleye, they thought. When they finally land it they realized it was a tiger ski of about 15lbs. A quick pic and it was released.

I'm not a big time Muskie fisherman but like most I've had a couple of accidental run ins with the monsters. I caught a 45" last year on a hula popper at the river's mouth on the west end of Moira Lake. There's a pretty large group that come up from Ohio every year to fish Moira and one of their targets is Muskie. Talk to the guys at Pro Muskie, some friends who are dedicated Muskie Men travel alot to the Kawarthas too.

take the grandkids fishn
