As the first day of the Walleye World Derby comes to a close, it has been a great day on WestLake. Especially for Ethan Caley, who landed a 10.78lb pike and a 7.34lb pike. He was no more than 10 years old. Those two put him in 1st and 3rd place in the Junior category. Dad had a 12.78 pike that was DOA, so could not be weighed in. The largest Walleye was 8.26lbs. Unfortunately no ticket by one angler. Other Walleye came in between 5lb and 8lb. Weather was great despite the forecast. Hope everyone is enjoying this great Derby. Dave

Thanks for update Dave. It's nice to see a detailed report from one of the weigh stations.

Congratulation to Ethan. Those two pike ended up winning and placing third in the junior division. Pretty darn good for little ol' WestLake.

hey Dave, we saw some great pike hit the ice this winter on West Lake.

Tim Lloyd caught a monster and I got a couple in the 10 to 12 lb range.
