when not using the 2 colour core, I ran leads as long as 200', and as short as 10'...

the longer leads did seem to work better than the short, but it was tougher to detect a fish on....

when using the 2 colour core off the rigger, after the 2 colours Id usually only run 15' or so of backing before connecting to the rigger...all said and done it would usually work out to be about 85' to 95' on the counter. (I only run about a 10' - 15' flouro lead from my core to my swivel...)
