Third time writing this out. Hope it works this time. I know were most of the launches are but haven't fished the bay for 25 years. I hope to head down for a day or two in a few weeks for some late season walleye. I have a 203 Mako on an aluminum bunk trailer. Most launches I have used this year I haven't had a problem with the depth. I live southwest of Ottawa so was thinking of using the launch on the north side of Hay Bay and heading out to the Points. How deep is the water at this launch this time of year and is it very busy. Also how is parking here? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you see an F-250 pulling a Mako 203 called "DUN-GOOD" stop by and say hello. Always willing to swap a few lies!

The launch you are talking about is called Shermans point launch. With the low water levels out there it can be a tricky launch to use. Might want to consider using Picton harbour or Deseronto.

Used Sherman's Launch last Thursday. Big drop off of ramp, low water & the docks are out. Usable as I only have a 165 Princecraft. The winds were high and the fish extremely scarce. I would use either Picton or Deseronto depending on the weather and winds. Good Luck.

Water is up from last year so far. Ferry is always good as well as Finkle Park -Bath area (both these are steel grate). Wind is key to selection. Bring waders to be sure. Watch for ice on concrete at Picton -bring sand.
