We're planning a trip to the Picton area in about a week. We've pushed our trip back a couple of weeks hoping it'll result in better catches, we only caught 2 small ones last year.

We've used Reef Runners, Tail Dancers and adding some Live Target perch for this year.

Successful lures/locations seem to change from year to year and have't seen much posted on the board this fall.

Is it still too early to be fishing Adolphus reach or Sherman's Point?

Many thanks sharing!

We're heading down Nov 9 10 11 and 18 19 20 21 and hopefully one more time after that as well.... we will be fishing that whole area .. from Desoronto to Sherman's Point, Thompson's Point , Adolfus Reach down to the Bat Cave and even further ... if we hit fish we generally stay in the area till the bite dies off then we go else where .... we troll deep diving tail dancers, reef runners, Mann's stretch 20's, Yo Zuri crystal minnows and live target...this will be the first year I'll be trying my new downriggers as well ...think we'll try worm harnesses and finess spinners with minnows on them ... we also jig off the points if trolling hasn t put fish in the boat ..

I do not yet have a VHF radio ... that is on the list of things I need for the boat though ...last year a bunch of us that were fishing late exchanged cells phone numbers ..1- so we could update each other on where the fish were ..and 2 - in case someone ran into boat trouble etc and needed help ... last year I fished right to the end of November ..had to break ice to get out from the launch and with 4 guys going in the water a week or so earlier it sounded like a good idea ...

Got a hand held VHF, monitor channel 16 for emergency and 72 for the local chatter when I do have it on, really just carry it in case I need it. Allways keep in touch with other boats with the cell phone
Cheers Rob
