Just an FYI, i have already seen the truck through the ice post here and thought i better add this.

I was out off Mass point to the East side on Sun (straight out). The ice has changed there quite a bit in just a few days. The snow has caused the ice to degrade and air pockets to develop. This is air under the ice where the ice does not get any thicker due to lack of water. most of the holes we drilled went from 6" of ice a week before to 3" and a geyser of either water or air when we chipped through... in just a few steps. I would highly recommend that you don't even walk it out there and stick to the normal paths out to the green buoy (directly north) and avoid the East side and narrowest part.
