hey guys ,

has any one used a ice ducer in the summer from a boat?

I was thinking if I could make a bracket to stabalize it? I would be mostly stationary or a slow drift and mainly need it for depth.

any thoughts?

Check the transducer frequency and that will tell you how much of a cone it makes.
For vertical jigging it will be great.
For getting the bottom image it will work as well as long as it is secured and your going slow so the turbulent water won't effect it too badly.

I have the bird 55, can select from 2 cones, which one will depend on depth of water, with drift sock hoping for almost no drift speed, so min water turbulence, thinking lake trout in deep water, keep the bait above them, play it like a video game if u can picture what I mean.
Cheers Rob

Good for vertical fishing I have an fl 12 and I was told when I bought it that there is a way to hook it up for soft water.

I have an aluminum boat and my ice fishing transducer is strong enough that it sends the signal through the bottom of the boat no problem makes it easy if you own a cheap aluminum lol
