Good morning. I am staying at a cottage in wapoose, smiths bay in early July. Has anyone fished here. Any idea what to target expect?
On a side note the pickeral has been slow for me in muscote this year. Have caught a couple pike fishing with spoons in the shallowest. But have struck out in the traditional walleye spots. Grape island, big island shoal.
Good luck to all.

You can catch mainly Pike and Bass in smiths bay, there are some fairly large pike in there for sure. I have pulled a two Walleye out of smiths in the 15 years I fished there but there not plentiful. Good luck.

Bass for sure- been kayaking it lately and the bass are huge- we're talking smallies in the 8lbs + range- something weird going on there. Lots of pike for sure, and some rather large jumbo perch. Haven't had the luck of catching any eyes there despite a point going into Smith's Bay called Pickeral Point. Best of luck and you may see me out in my kayak.
