Finally the wind died enough to get out for a short mornings fish. Began to troll at the Shermans Launch ramp around 0815 and headed west to the Yellow marker. Marked a lot of fish in the 28 foot depth, but no takers on the first lure. Switched to a Flicker S and headed towards the west shore, marking fish all the while, nice to see them.
Heading back towards Shermans lighthouse, the planer board fired and I was into a fish heading into the wind. Simple procedure, neutral the motor and drift.
Got the board off and it was a fish.....
Brought it up to the net and scooped and it was caught fish, a nice 20.5 incher which will be added to the fish-fry for my grandsons.
Trolled around but couldn't get a second taker, pulled the board and I was dragging a 3 inch perch - rats!!!!!! Headed back to the dock at 1145.
One for one. Happy with that
Some others from Bayview also hit a nice 3lber near Carp Cove.
