Hey everyone, I am from ottawa and I was wondering if people fish for salmon/steelhead around kingston or the gap area. I am not looking for specific areas, just checking to see if I am wasting my time. I catch lots of Lake trout the area and was thinking of trying for other fish.

I have heard of the scotch bonnet area but hoping for somewhere a little closer.

Thanks for any help as I am new to these fish and hoping to catch my fish salmon or steelhead this year.

For salmon you would likely have to head out to main duck island area which is quite the run. Haven't heard much of salmon/steelie catches around the gap, suppose it's possible in the fall as the Kings come closer to spawn.

We pick up some nice Lakers and once in awhile walleye shows up, usually in the 6/8 lb range. We r usually outside the gap or fallowing the island shore line if to windy to go thru the gap. Not enough walleye to go target them. False duck islands have good bass and carp.but it can pick up pretty fast out there. Heard about the salmon (fall times) but have not matched a day off with a calm day. Hoping this fall a plan comes together.
Cheers Rob
