Hey guys the world is not ending yet!!!
counter went in 1st week of march very late this year because ice frozen in the ladder
December /Jan were very mild and a lot of fish were already on there way with out being counted
Feb and early march fishing was great, it was a very cold month and stopped them from running
We had a huge rain (40 plus mm) April 2/3 and the last count was completed on march30 I bet you see a big jump in the numbers next time they complete a lift !!!
Tyler if I am wrong I will supply a few adult beverages for the opener on Friday
Only 17 more sleeps
Great picture Charlie thanks for sharing !!!!
cheerz

looks like I need an extra trip to supply the adult beverages!!!

Warmer temps this week should get them moving. Fingers crossed.

I fish way up river and took a walk last Wednesday and seen a bunch but not what i was hoping. Took another walk last night and seen likely 3-4x the fish. Was much happier leaving, and more pumped for the weekend to come!

Good luck this weekend to all you trout guy's!

FYI south side of Sylvan Glenn bridge all the way south to the dale road bridge (approximately 5kms of water) is closed to private property. OPP will be on this section beginning Friday night through weekend denying access to privately owned land. The owner has had enough of large camp fires and garbage!!!!
If you are a regular in this area I not telling you not to go but I know It can be a lot of work setting up, and then get removed!!! your call!!
A reminder the city of port hope allows free camping in any city owned park (no campfires)
All the best to everyone and enjoy the weekend!!!!!

It's always a gong show. We fish shelter valley and I'm always amazed at how may guys will walk past the no trespassing sign, climb our fence, leave garbage and then get mad when we tell them to leave

Do landowners own the river too attached to the property. What if someone somehow managed to walk up a river attached to private property.

Yes we do on ours, it's not navigable waters and states river bed in deed, same with some spots on the ganny.

Hahaha last year on the Friday had some guys camped on the one field. I walked over and said politely that it was private and the owner Paul doesn't allow people in without permission, they told me how they know Paul for years and he said it's fine. I then introduced myself as Paul the owner and they didn't say anything just packed up and left.

My biggest thing is no one asks. I let a few fish for a bit each opener when they actually take the time to not walk up with all their gear on and ready and ask if it's private and if they can fish. The common sense and politeness is gone from most who show up.
