Happy soggy morning everyone. I'm looking forward to my first opener on the bay but being kayak based (native slayer propel 13 with most of the goodies) its not like I can drop the boat in the water and scoot 30 miles trying things so I've got a couple questions:

1. I'm based on Big island but is fishing the bay around there worth while first weekend or should I drive over to hay bay or there abouts? Of course if the winds are crazy then the big bay is out for me but figured I'd ask. Any other thoughts on general areas where you'd consider dropping a boat in without a huge run would be appreciated, I'll do the research from there.

2. There's quite a few other yaker's on the board - if anyone's going out and looking for company drop me a line, would love to share some time on the water and back up any 'one that got away' stories (doesn't have to be walleye fishing, anything that swims is fine by me). Plan to be up Friday night so anytime Saturday or Sunday should work, not afraid of the rain as long as it isn't too miserable.

Thanks, hope to see you all on the water soon.
Sean

I live on Bg Island and fish from a cuda 14. I won't be out opening weekend as I am heading to Lake Simcoe for a work weekend but drop me a line for future outings.

Thanks guys, I'll be in touch. Still living in Toronto weekdays (gotta pay off the place before we can make it permanent) so I'm a weekend warrior for a while longer.

Personally for me, yak fishing is the way to go, and the only way I fish. Tarpon120 orange loaded for fishing. Heading down to the cottage (Adolphus reach) on Saturday to open the cottage and hopefully the walleye opener. If the winds are favorable, haybay for me. Usually drag my dad out, but I can easily stay on the water far longer than he. Also may go fishing for some browns over in athol bay. Should be down almost every weekend as the warm weather comes in- so feel to drop me a line, always looking for company.
