Stayed at County Shores this past Friday with a couple buddies. Not being familiar with the area we decided we were going to try for walleye in the morning and evening and find bass spots thru the day. When we got out on the water Saturday morning we noticed the water was very murky. About 1.5ft vis. We dragged some bouncers in front of big bay and trident point but all we got were small yellow and white perch and a couple sheepshead. As soon as we dropped down the fish were tearing it apart. Anyways, after about a couple hours of that we headed to a number of areas for bass.

Everywhere we went the bay was murky with very low visibility.

I was wondering if there was an algae bloom that recently happened or is this common for the bay to be like this late in the summer??? I have fished the Belleville for opener and the water is never like that. We ended up leaving around 1pm and headed north to a small lake for the rest of the weekend.

From my experience on the Bay and other lakes I find that the water usually gets green from the seeds and vegetation at this time of the year - some times the water looks like pea soup - I also find that the fishing isn't that good when this happens - I have a question - how is the water level on the Bay - a year or so ago I stayed at county shores and almost had to have a ladder to get down to my boat - it was sometime in September

I would say the water is pretty low right now. Launching the boat this week was fun.....all 4 tires on the truck were in the water to get the boat to start floating.

Normal.. Should be using fairly large baits this time of year on boq. if they can't find it, they can't eat it..
Flipping a weed line, produced several good bass and of course a walleye... Have a 4 lakes, 4 walleye in heavy weeds, in 4 trips streak going. (Targeting bass)
