Hi everyone,

Considering the weather lately, is it possible to launch a boat in boq right now?

I would think Finkles ramp in Bath would be open, there sure is no snow.

David aka Superdad

Today is a bit foggy in Kingston, don't know about Bath - lots of trout out there.

Just getting on ferry now and the launch is iced in for 30-40 feet then all open. Finkles is likely your best bet.

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

First time trying for trout at this time of the year with the lake turned over... So they're not relating to a specific depth, correct? Are they on structure? Would like to know where to start :) Will be planer boarding and or downrigging.

Mike

Mike, I did well in 25-60 fow in December. Spoons and cranks trolled around 2 mph. They are everywhere and you probably won't mark many fish.

Depends on the year. I've seen it locked up and people ice fishing the gap at end of January before but mostly it stays open till Feb lately. The laker fishery out there is incredible. Easy to have 20+ bite days from December to May.

Very new to area JBAR. Are you saying that i can launch my boat on the trent at this time of year? Is it typically open at this time or just a rarity? Where do i launch?

sorry for the barrage of questions.

Jbar,
The on a normal winter is frozen over. I drive over the upper bridge the other day just as a boat was launching and could see a few more out fishing. Absolutely no ice.

Thanks Charlie! If the winds are too strong at Finkles (forecast 20 knots), then I know where to go...
