Next CLOSA general meeting March 15th at 7 pm.
Carrying Place United Church Hall, 20 Old Portage Road.
Everyone welcome.
Got my first Rhys Davis whole bait heads in 1987. Time to give up a few more tips and tricks that I have learned the hard way. As far as I know I was probably one of the first anglers to run whole alewives and herring strips on this side of the Lake. Presentation will deal with whole baits, anchovies, Alewife cut plugs, herring & alewife strips and of coarse M. C. Rockets. The Great Ontario Salmon Derby grand prize winner was caught on a Rocket last summer.
Also proper salt brine solutions for curing of these baits.
I will explain the use of Pautzke Firebrine to colour and cure the baits.
I will also deal with the new attractors that I prefer to run in front of these baits. Back in the day we used metal dodgers and flashers. Presently with all the plastic flasher models on the market the technique is far more forgiving. These new flashers have a much wider speed range and trolling speed is not as critical.
I will answer any and all questions regarding these very productive techniques.
