Laker John & I hit the water from Bayview around 0900 and made several trolling passes in the Middle of Hay Bay - we marked fish and there were many pods of baitfish, but we couldn't attract anything to our lures.

Left the area around 1145 and headed to Long Reach, we counted 17 boats jigging at Thompsons but they slowly filtered away until there were about 5 left. We understand there were 100? boats there Saturday.

We trolled the High Shore for a couple of passes - once again without any luck.

We pulled the rods at 1430 and headed for the ramp.

The weather was SPECTACULAR and the lack of wind made it really pleasant being on the water.

It would appear to us that fish haven't made their way to the areas where they used to winter prior to the spawn.

Stay Tuned - we're not done yet

Thanks for the report. It certainly was a beautiful day on the water.

I also trolled Long Reach most of the day with no luck. Trolled around red barn for about an hour and then motored down to cement plant and trolled back to Green PT. We probably crossed paths out there. Had some decent marks and big bait balls in one area but mostly just the odd fish glued to the bottom. Talked to few guys back at the Desi launch and 2 boats had fish. A couple over 10 and a couple around 5-7. Seems like jigging that day was the ticket in Long Reach. Makes sense with most of my marks being right on bottom. I would have preferred to fish east of the ferry but figured it would be to crowded. Next year if I fish this area I will definitely have a couple rods set up for jigging. Anyhow the boat was supposed to go into storage last weekend but made a last minute decision to come down for the day. Was a great day to be on the water.

on sat there were only a couple of boats.things got busier on on sun, maybe a dozen or so boats.weather and fishing were fantastic but if your looking for trophys, not the way to go.love the jigging as between the pickerel there are other fish to amuse away the day.perch, silver bass, even caught a channel cat.not many pickerel were worthy of the net
