Wow!! How many fisherman are gonna take the dip this year? This is what I'm gathering this year, every joe dick and Larry who hasn't ice fished in 10 years is taking up ice fishing again. There's more ballzy fisherman out there also. First ice when the was 2.5 to 3 inches ,there use to be maybe a couple on the ice and everyone thought they were crazy. This year there was about 50 huts on the ice when it was that thin. I've been saying this for years, when people tell me that I'm crazy to go out when the ice isn't safe, my reply is it's never safe. It doesn't matter if there is two feet of ice ,depending on the conditions There could be a old hole or pressure cracks that could open up and freeze a layer on it then get some snow. That's a good recipe for a dip! See with your eyes check with your spud!

Saw two people get a leg wet this afternoon and an ATV's rear half take a quick plunge. Lucky the guy had some speed and momentum going and front tires pulled him back up quick.
It's definitely very hairy out there now and a fair amount of current moving through as I noticed from my spoons
