Anyone have any reports on how the ice is holding up?
I'm going to assume that Huffs/Narrows, etc are toast.
Any reports from Big Island, Potters, etc?

Hi folks. Similar question, I'll leave it here.

Our annual BOQ ice pilgrimage was planned for this weekend, Feb 23-25. We are concerned we might not be getting our lines wet after this melty, rainy spell. I see one of the rental companies has already removed their huts and shut her down for the season. Can anyone comment on the ice conditions around Peats Point? Any info is appreciated.

Many thanks,
Lobo

I don’t fish that area, but if fishfinder charters pulled his huts off its over, his huts on some of the safest ice on the bay,I am throwing the towel in as well.

Me too... too much run-off for this guy.
Was a buddies cottage near huffs yesterday ... walked 10 feet out, that's it. Never drilled a hole, just peaked in a pressure crack, not a lot left and its definitely not strong.

The only place I could see with safe ice personally would be hay bay down by the church as I was on alittle more than 14 inches of black ice sunday, but you will need a couple of cold nights to tighten things up or it would be very wet and uncomfortable. Not familiar with ice on the rest of the bay right now. but as always you would have to check with the local tackle shops to see if people have been in.

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. We're making the road trip. Might just be a pisser without the fishing.

I was out on potters this evening spuded my way out to 17 fow. Ice was 13" where I was fishing. Definitely some sketchy spots. A couple holes were there, just walk around them the far way to be on safer side of stupid lol. Some cracking was occurring, some of the cracks definitely made me pucker up water tight lol. Fishing was alright lots of perch ( only a few decent keepers though) marked 2 small walleye, missed them both lol. Can't win em all.

I went out on to Aikens this afternoon. Today was the first day I got skunked. Current was crazy strong I was fishing on 7" of ice and my flasher was a ft away from me on 5" of ice. If you go out just be careful
