First time out today at Big Island. Shout out to friendly fisherman Dan from Napanee who fixed me up with some minnows in Wagars parking lot.(you know that feeling you get when you know you forgot something)
Lots of fishermen out. Word seemed to be Perch were the fish of the day. Used a JawJacker for the first time and thanks to Dan the Perch gave it a good test and I was impressed with the way it worked. Beautiful afternoon but the ice was a tad noisy(6” of good solid ice) and I know the noise means its making ice but I still get a little uneasy when you hear and feel it right underfoot.
Ontario’s finest were exit to Island making sure everyone was playing by the rules.
