Well from the looks of the long term weather it will be a cold blustery opener for this year. Sunday should shine though.... is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Just as long as the wind stays down I will be happy. We have had two straight years of really nice weather for the opener so this year might be a bit wet and windy.

I hate nice weather on the opener. The fish dont seem as cooperative under calm, blue bird skies. Bring on the wind and rain!

Couldn't agree more Dan. Bring on the wind and rain :D already got the rain suit packed in with all the gear and the count down is on. We'll be in Picton next Friday afternoon waiting for the midnight bell!! Good luck out there next weekend. I hope everybody has a safe and fun time!
Cheers and Good Fishing 8)

Guarantee we get rain at least one day, which is great! Might mean less boats which sounds terrific! Be out in the boat for most of the w/e! GL to all! But were going to win so HEY! LOL

Well things are improving.... less rain only %40 chance of rain now with light winds out of the west.

A bit cooler though... but not enough to qualify as a cold front though... I hope. 8O

Rough water with some over cast sky would be my pick. Higher the winds - less boat traffic out in the big waters around Picton.

So what are our thoughts on the weather now since it has changed so much since the beginning of the week. They are not very good at long range forecasts!!!!
When was the height of the spawn ET. or anyone who may know. 1week--2weeks--3weeks ago? I was thinking of fishing near Belleville the first day and Hay bay on Sunday. I may just target some pike with jerk baits and oversized rattletraps.

Well now they are not calling for rain at all.... but the wind has picked up a bit out of the North-West. Pack a sweater guys and gals.

Best of luck to you all.... stay safe.

Oh yeah anyone out tonight will get an added treat.... the earth is passing though the tail of Haily's comet and we will be getting loads of shooting stars... enjoy. 8)

Was the weatherman wrong or what?

I never thought that I would have seen rain like we got on Saturday.

Made for some soggy fishing.

About 1000 hrs, stopped and it was cloudy, which was a Good Thing.
