saw that too. Minn kota is going to be dealing with a declining market share as Lowrance is also coming out with a trolling motor and motorguide is introducing new models. I dont see the prices dropping tho

Test drove a Lowrance Ghost and will check out the Garmin Force as well as the MotorGuide model tomorrow! Will let you know what I think after seeing them all!

Be interesting to hear how the tests of these new motors go without and company preferences.

I believe that both the Garmin Force & Lowrance Ghost are both winners, with the MotorGuide Tour Pro bringing up the rear. Both the Force & Ghost use brushless motors (Super quiet), have anchor lock feature and are programable in many ways. The Garmin Force is available in both a 50 & 57-inch shaft length, has a wireless foot pedal which feels much like a cable drive pedal. It comes with a floating remote control which controls all functions of the trolling motor along with a "Gesture" feature. the "Gesture" feature allows you to point the remote in the direction you wish to go and the motor will head there! It also has wireless integration with your Garmin units.
The Ghost has a"Fly By Wire" foot pedal which also has a cable drive feel and has a switch that can be changed from side to side. the Ghost is currently only available in a 47" shaft length and of course pair readily with Lowrance units. Both the Ghost & the Force have about 30% more thrust than the current champ, the Minn Kota Ultrex, The brushless motor makes them both very energy efficient, lasting anywhere from 30-60% longer. Both the Garmin & Lowrance mounts appear to be robust and well built. they also both have an auto "Park" position for stowing the trolling motor!

At a price of over $4100.00 should be nice.
