Stoco lake hardwater crappies

hey lads, i am new to ice fishing for crappies, and heard there are some good black crappie opportunities on Stoco lake in tweed. I would like to give it a go this weekend and was wondering what jigs to use, and where to find them on the lake. any help would be greatly appreciated. if you do not want to post on the wall feel free to pm me. When i have gone crappy fishing i have used a little finn jig with a berkley realistic minnow(Plastic) darn things are expensive but they work for me mind you every body of water is different anything small will work there like bass they will bite a cigarette butt if the offering is right lol good luck hope you slay them!! I fish big rideau lake for crappies all the time...tiny glow jigs, tiny spoons, I've had good success with the smallest Williams in gold, usually tipped with a small mud minnow.

Different lake, but I would think the same tactics should work.

Sorry to burst your bubble fella but I think I have a right to post this thread, and I'm pretty sure it's not a secret that stoco holds crappie, so I am struggling to see your point. don't tell anyone the bay of quinte has walleye eh..might affect the fishery

The "municipality of tweed goes on and on about how a stoco lake is crappie central and they advertise their black crappie spring tournaments so I don't really see a problem. Thanks though. Have a nice day

I will side with you on this considering that Tweed pushes the Musky and Crappie as their gift to the world.

On top of these, you have your ice reports, musky derby, spring crappie and many many other enticements to the public be it Municipal or private.

toddyfish if you have a resource that you would like to keep secret take the issue to the people that are exploiting it. I am waiting for Stoco to follow Rice Lake overfished and concerned that the fishery is in danger.
