I had the opportunity to attend and recommend that any that want a possible say as a stakeholder to attend future meetings. This one had a small amount of people in attendance (roughly 22), with those observed generally being from a core group of organizations, from or involved with the region. Generally when the percieved "condition" of any fishery is viewed as remotely favourable to angling catch and related self interest groups, one gets few people attending.

The stated formula or rough model will look like what was used on Nippissing. The upside is that it has assisted in providing some remote form of regional conciliation. The downside is that it can seem cumbersome.... but all in all this will be a step forward. Hopefully it will not get side tracked. Just a note for those interested. The timeframe of the finished model was verbalized to be near completion within roughly the next year following more public consulation and review.

Having said that, I again suggest that any and all involved from a group or groups consider getting involved less they not expect to be heard when decisions are made or considered. Trust me on this. Lead, follow or get out of the way..... is a very old mode of operation common throughout North America. This is no different with the more vocal players getting the most in many, many cases.

Management by crisis, is not a wise course in todays outdoor related climate. The move towards more proactive measures is good, with the main word of caution being to ensure that no one self interest group is allowed to dominate, including staff working for or contracted. Just some notes.

Don,

It was nice to see you visiting form BC and to say hello. Your input is always well received.

It's unfortunate that there weren't more attendees, recognizing that each meeting is making progress and outlining the plans direction.

If you aren't attending and are not happy with the final result, it's like an election - if you don't vote then you shouldn't criticize the results.

Safe trip Home Don. Back in July???

Cheers

David aka Superdad
