I saw this report at supper about 'some good' news about water levels.

https://www.quintenews.com/2020/02/26/229579/

Let's hope this helps

Thanks for the link, hopefully the extra 10 days will help, can't hurt!!
Interesting comments by the Marine commercial guy, confirms my belief that if you want the truth follow the money.
Keeping my fingers crossed, will face east standing on one leg at next full moon

Thanks David, I was about to post the same story from the Intelligencer. This should help, but we’ll see.

Shipping is claiming a 12 day delay in opening, because they want to open March 20th, but cannot open until April 1st.

According to United Shoreline Canada
To quote their news letter

"Shipping has opened March 20th exactly once in the last 20 years, and that was in 2017 just prior to our first record flooding. Note that 2017 was also their longest season, closing January 11th despite the destruction to the shoreline and the record highs.

The average duration of the shipping season in the last 20 years is 279.9 days. Let's see if an April 1st, 2020 start date changes the actual length of the shipping season before we start using the catastrophic costs to the shipping industry as a reason to not lower the lake.

This is not a 12 day delay, this is simply shipping not getting what they want and spinning it as a costly accommodation. However, the continued costs to the shoreline are real."

FYI
According to the St Lawrence River Authority we are already approx 4" higher levels than last years record level.

https://ijc.org/en/loslrb/watershed/water-levels

The IJC Forecast, shows the potential for record levels, 4-5' higher than average even with a dry spring, these are the people controlling the outflow

https://ijc.org/en/loslrb/watershed/forecasts

Bottom Line it don't look so good. 2017 & 2019 caused considerable damage, how much more can our waterfront trees take, before the roots are completely exposed and they come down, just imagine the Deseronto Centennial Park/boat ramp with no shade.
Just saying that's all!!
