After injuring myself in the river Saturday morning while fly fishing, felt I should get back on a spinning rod (been a long time since I used one) for a while so I can recover from my wounds. My wife bought me a 7' Rapala Sportsman and gave me an old Silstar cx40 reel she got from her dad for my birthday, so cooked up my recipe I made for boilies (european carp bait) on Saturday and took the rod out Sunday morning to see what it could do. well the rod held up and my sore arm got even worse, but managed to land this guy, next time I'll bring a bigger net!!! nothing like a screaming drag and a 100 yard run.

I broke my net the other day... I had it clamped together with visegrips to finish out the morning  Her last day, she pulled in 11 salmon well over 100 lbs of fish. That's going out in style!!

BTW the leader for week #1 is 37+ lbs 8O 8O 8O
