Quick story. I was pulling my big boat out at Waupoos Marina early on Sunday morning. I was alone, so I docked the boat, got the truck, hooked up the trailer, drove across the yard, and lowered the trailer into the water at the ramp. Knowing I was blocking the ramp, I hustled back the boat but had to circle the main docks. By the time I was back at the ramp, another truck and trailer was backing in to launch. Uh-oh, I thought, I better put a smile on my face and be ready to apologize for the hold up. And it was my first time for pulling out the new boat, so I wasn't looking for the added pressure of an irate and impatient audience. But exactly the opposite happened. The driver of the truck scooted down the ramp, helped me get the boat straight, shared some thoughts on bunks versus rollers, tight-walked the trailer tongue and actually worked the winch for me. Great guy. He seemed like an active local fisher, so the odds are 'non-zero' that he is a member here. So, thanks, Jay! Best to all, Dano
PS - caught a coupla-pounder pike in the channel between the island and Morrison Point in 30 minutes of trolling at dusk Saturday. Not exactly worthy of a full-on fishing report...
