Went out for 2 hours after work from Baker's Island. First time in over a week. Finally got a couple of pickerel....eaters. Also got 2 huge perch. One rod I tried various spoons & jigs. The other a sidewinder...gold/orange. Got them all on the sidewinder. Felt good to get some.

Congrats Turk.

I tried out of Indian Island tonight. A few decent perch, no real jumbos. No walleye hits. At about a dozen outings and 1 eye… tried a 1/2oz gold and orange sidewinder tonight, might have been too big?

First congrats and thanks for the report. 2 questions and please do not mind if I sound stupid......duh
What is the best way out to Baker's area for a civilian or can I get entrance through the gatehouse as a civvy?
2) if no entry at the gatehouse how is the walk from Bain?
Thanks in advance FF

**sidewinder Gold and orange, my go to**I do not see to many other blade baits, do you Turk32

Hi Flier....so to speak, I do work on the Base so does make it easy. No you wouldn't be able to get in. I was about 1/2 way across the Bay, which would make it a long walk from Bain. Having said that, I honestly don't think you have to go that far. As usual, the best time was 5-6, and I do think the pickerel start to cruise and turn on then. Caught the perch before 5. They were both near 12". Bill

I believe that I was trying to get to Bakers a number of years ago and was denied access at the gates. Oh well, thank you.
