Fished yesterday afternoon evening out of waupoos. headed out and around timber and false ducks. Lots of small fish around in the shallower water and the water itself is turning cloudy. Didnt bring any walleye gear but certainly marked lots of suspended eyes and saw a single boat trolling them. the biggest smallie for the day was 4.75 lbs. most of the fish were drop shots, tubes and the ned rig. Water temp was low 70's. With the new to me engine on the boat I cant believe how quiet and the torque on the 4 stroke Yamaha SHO.

Nicely done Dan. I'm still getting pickerel every night I go out...8-9:15. 3 last night, 18-22", 2 the night before. Been up north a lot lately too...Algonquin area with my boat and canoe. Rainbows, lakers & smallies.

The big lake has been tough this year for us. It's very cloudy and can barely see down 10'.

We're finding fish but has fished differently than I can remember. Lots of smaller fish but have picked up a few good ones including these: 5.2 and 5.6 double header on first drop.

Turk, those northern lakers sure seem small compared to what we get around here. We are spoiled . Paul a pair of 5's on 1st drop is nice. I agree with the water color, visibility 10 ft at most and its the same in the river, I was fishing ivy lea on friday. it was a mistake to go as I didnt realize the the 199 boats fishing the Toyota MLF series would be on every hump, shoal and flat. I did manage to get a 5.75 but most of the fish were in the 2-3lb range.

The lake and river has been extremely busy this year.

Although kinda cool to watch, when you're trying to fish yourself, it's hard with so many boats.

Those boats are out there fishing for only one reason to make money.

Dan....re-lakers...completely different strain as you know. That was actually the biggest caught that day on Opeongo.

I personally avoid the river till the fall now. They are getting pounded week after week on both sides of the border and between that and all the other boat traffic I just find it to busy and more of a chore to find and stay on active fish. The early season keeps me satisfied till the fall and there are so many lakes in our area that have great action should the need arise to satisfy an ich. I only hope that the final shootout classic is not another Ben Woo disaster as I here it is being held out of Napanee and if they are planning on doing the weigh in there in town you know those small mouth making the trip from the lake will suffer if they are released back into the river in that warm water!
