Well, every year I seem to tell myself the same thing… “No. More. New. Ice tackle…”

I’ve already broken my own promise… picked up a few things at Sail the other day during the big sales. I’m getting excited. Fingers crossed for good ice. Some decent looking fillet knives for $5 if anybody is in need, by the way.

In the spirit of ice season, I’m always up for reading and sharing fish stories… I’m curious - What is your biggest (longest or heaviest if you measured/weighed) ‘eye through the ice?

It’s been 11 years since I caught my first 30” fish. Not super heavy, though, 10lbs even. It was on a jigging rap, of course. Just before lunch time, too.

I know that the true giants are well bigger than 30”/10lbs.

Let’s hear about your biggest to pass the time.

Ive caught a few 12's over the year thru the ice but my favorite pic of an eye on the ice is this fish at 11 and change. I hope to heck we get a better ice season than we had last year

Nice one, Dan!! I’m hoping I crack the 12 mark one day…. Love the colors on them, can never get enough of the gold!

I sure hope we get ice. Guy at the tackle shop today (over here near Woodstock) was telling me they are driving up to Nipissing at Christmas to walk out. Hearing it made me antsy!

Hope I didn’t spoil my own Christmas presents… I grabbed a couple new jigs, of course. :D

Come onnnnn BOQ.

I caught my Biggest Ever Walleye 25 years ago at 12 pounds 5 ounces!!! Back when we use to get lots of ice and snow!!! He was caught between Horse point and Massasauga point in 13 feet of water just outside the green buoy!!! He bite a home made lure called The 75 cent lure because it was made with 3 quarters!!! One of my Best Memories!!!! Good Luck to everyone this season!!!
