*** FINAL POST from Superdad ***

Good afternoon to all Quinte Fishing friends.
Dave (Jr) here posting on behalf of Dad who passed away last Friday April 25.

This time of the year was always heavily anticipated by Superdad as opening walleye season is now days away.
Thank you to all who were a part of this community that Dad enjoyed sharing stories, information and 'bragging" about the day's catch.

I am very proud of my father for many things, one of which was that he never kept secrets when it came to fishing. The 'old school' who would never share lures/locations and tips when their limit was full and others were skunked - was not Dad.

I am confident Dad would want to encourage the 'enough fish in the pond for everyone' attitude to continue in his memory on the Beg N Brag board. If there is a walleye season in heaven, I'm sure he's getting his Uzick spinners and worms ready!

Tight Lines to all.
Dave

PS - Below is Dad's OBITUARY posted at the Arbor Memorial website.

David Albert Delcloo.
1942-2025, Kingston, Ontario.
David passed away April 25th, 2025, from cancer. He was husband of 60 years to Patricia
Delcloo (née Swim/Clark), father to David (Valerie Eddleman) and Charlene (John Hladky),
grandfather to Albert and William Delcloo and Matthew Hladky. David will be missed by his
sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Larry Swan (Ottawa) and Curtis and Marion Swim
(Wirral, NB). He will be remembered by his cousins, Eleanor Nordquist and Patricia Benson,
and their families.
He was born in St. Boniface, MB, in 1942, and lived in Saint John, Montreal, and Kingston.
His ability to connect with people resulted in a chain of life long friendships: John and
Beverly Skelton (Ottawa), Clifford and Anne-Marie Ruthen (Cambridge, ON) and the Giffin
Family (New Brunswick) are a few amongst many.
Twice retired, Canadian National Railways and Via Rail Canada, he was able to devote his
time to his lifelong passion for fishing. Known as « Superdad », he was a fishing guru to all.
He will be remembered for his spirit of volunteerism especially as Akela of the First Lorraine
Cub pack, as dinner chairman for the Atlantic Salmon Federation, Montreal and as chair for
the CNR pensioners, Kingston.
We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at the AB Smith
Homestead House for the their compassion and dedication. They made our sad transition
easier.
At David’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

Memorial donations may be made to
1 - The Atlantic Salmon Federation https://www.asf.ca/get-involved/),
2 - The Cancer Centre of South Eastern Ontario ( https://kingstonhsc.ca/cancer-care)
3 - The Providence House Hospice (providencecare.ca/hospice/programs-services/).

Saw David in the hospice two weeks ago. He was cheerful and grateful, what a terrific guy! 30+ years went by far too quickly, but we had wonderful times. Save me a seat on the boat! Neil.

I always enjoyed reading his posts and will miss them.

It was obvious his family and passion for fishing was the most important thing to him.

I had a few phone calls with him over the past couple weeks after he decided it was time to go to hospice. I was really struck by how he kept his upbeat cheerful self even as this part of life was coming to an end. We chatted about old times, fishing and the board politics before social media diversified. He was a great contributor and always willing to share what was working for him. He made the "Uzick" a local favorite and we all enjoyed reading his reports. RIP Superdad and my condolences to family and loved ones.

I had the pleasure of spending a day with Superdad, chasing a late fall bite. No fish that day however he shared his wealth of bay knowledge, a fish tale at every spot, feature &trolling route. He will be missed
My condolences to you and all your family
Bruce
