Well, we headed out from the usual place. That big cold front had rolled through, causing temperatures to plunge, so we figured we might need to bring some extra layers which we did. Unfortunately, we found a lot of ice, which shouldn't have come as much of a surprise this time of year. The wind was a little bit chilly, too, as temperatures had fallen to the upper 20's, quite a change from only a few days ago.
We started off jigging, and managed to catch a few small ones. This was the first time I have jigged in many months, but it worked - 3/8 oz. down 30' only. Off of Marathon Key, halfway between Miami and Key West.
The wind really picked up, so I was forced to put on both extra layers, not just my tank top, but also my t-shirt. Brrr..... those upper 20's can be really chilly. Still in shorts and sandals, though. There was plenty of ice - in the cooler - so the beers were pretty cold. Eschewing extra protection, I took a chance and left the sunscreen off.
We ended up catching half a dozen little grunts, and some undersized groupers. I have only three minutes left before my computer time expires.
But I made you look!
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!
Cheers and plenty of ice-cold beers,
Pete
