Hey guys where are the reports,
I was out with a buddy from Ottawa this saturday
between 2 and 6 pm. We fished out from the ramp
at the Deseronto Bridge. We were pretty much the
first out. We fished in 15 ft of water with Champs,
Pimples, and Jigging Rapalas. My buddy caught a
number of 6 inch perch. I did not even have that
much action. I was trying to hard I guess.
By 4:30 pm there must have been at least 25 fisherman
and women out, with us right in the center of everything. From
4:30 to 6:00 we saw 5 fish caught. Nothing small. Every
fish caught was kept. One fish looked to be over the slot.
I heard someone say they measured it at 26". I heard two
other guys asking for tape measures 10-15 minutes after
they caught the fish. They looked like mid slot length. The
other two fish looked like slot fish, they appeared to not be
considered for measurement at all.
Every Quinte fisherman who cares about these fish should
each have a tape measure in their pocket at all times while
fishing. Maybe someone could come up with the Quinte Tape
and make a millon.
Well, we made our way back to Kingston. The 401 was bare
pavement at 6:00. We drove for 10 minutes and bamm we
hit a major snow storm. In a 1 km stretch there were a dozen
cars in the ditch. Strange only one SUV. On it roof though. I
hope everyone was ok. Visibility was down to 20 ft. We drove
at 50 km most of the way to Kingston.
This week I didn't hit another Canada Goose but one of my glasses
lenses popped out in 8 inches of snow right near my truck just as
I came off the ice. Craap. Ended up freezing my hands pretty
good rifling through the snow. Got lucky, All of a sudden the lense
was in my hand. I used fishing line to hold the lense in since I lost
one of the screws from the glasses.
Good luck next weekend,
BATMAN
