I read this on-line this morning....maybe we could start our own slogan for our area.

Quinte-Sential Walleye Fishing! :)

Georgia fishing for angle

We have a new motto! Georgians everywhere are celebrating the news that the state will now promote itself as a "fisherman's paradise" (that's from Gov. Sonny Perdue's State of the State address last week) with the new slogan: Go Fish Georgia.

Perdue plans to spend $19 million to promote fishing in Georgia, including building boat ramps and luring bass tournaments.

As a tourist magnet, "Go Fish Georgia" is not quite up there with "What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas." Plus the construction feels strange. Should there be a comma? "Go Fish, Georgia." Or "Go, Fish Georgia."

But even with limited appeal, it beats New Hampshire's sweet come-on "Live Free or Die."

The bandwagon has started to roll, as many players in the state come up with their own related tourist slogans.

Some possibilities:

• Go to Jail If You Jaywalk Atlanta

• Go Sit in Traffic Gwinnett

• Go Have a Ball Sugarloaf Country Club

• Go Nuts Plains

• Go Bust Delta

• Go Drool Cheetah

• Go Whole Hog Bob Nardelli

— Phil Kloer

We do have a slogan in the Quinte area aka Walleye Capital of the World
it's "Bite Me".
It's applicable to almost everything that can happen to a person out fishing on the Bay and it sometimes can work for you even if you're not fishing. Not a day goes by when you're out fishing you don't see some guy looking down his pole muttering those words. I've even heard it said when a fellow fisherperson was commenting on the parking job someone has performed on the bottom of George Street. Yup who'd a thought two little words can mean so much.....Gary
