Hey there,

Was wondering if any of you could tell me if it's safe to ice fish near the Bay Bridge and near Cow Island also.

I'ts been a few years since I've ice fished the BOQ but when I did there were a few spots I had with no traffic from others and was killing them, lots of good eaters and a few pigs LOL.

I've read that all the other spots are producing and thats great!! But would love to fish the ol' battle grounds again

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks ,
FatPat

The Bay Bridge area is being continuously opened up by a tug boat/ice breaker to reduce ice jams from the Moira River resulting in unsafe ice there. Although if you walk along the edge you could probably troll... Bring planer boards!

FatPat,

I would not recommed anything by the bay bridge since it is being opened up to allow the ice to flow out of the moira river.

If you want to get some good information check out Skevy's Outdoor Specailst. It's the bait shop in town. Ron is pretty good at giving guys information

Thanks for the info guys......

Jeff_C .......... tried that before with the planers, but ya gotta keep a steady pace going and gets very tiresome quickly

There was a time though when I lived in Belleville that ice breaker didn't do his thing until later in the season.......it's a bit of a bummer then for me , caught nice eye's in the past there.

Cheers,
FatPat
