Who was in the princecraft off Pt Penninsula fishing the Cabela's tournament on Saturday. I was in the black pro v trolling inside of you on Saturday morning.

I see there was a Sheldon Hatch(0 fish on day one) from Ontario signed up and also Kevin Lavers (2 fish on day one). We werent in the tourney but did pick up two seven pounders on that troll. Wish we had been, lol, we would have been in 7 or 8, leader had 4 fish for 38 pounds, will be tough to catch on day two. Day two results not posted yet.

That was me... Shawn Hannah and Pete Lewis (eyedocter) in my Princecraft. Thanks for giving us room to fish on Saturday. There wasn't many tournament boats there and the guys fishing the spot were very courtieous.

We took 2nd again this year. Steve sure put the hurt on those fish and made the right adjustments as the surface temp warmed up during the tournament. When we started fishing there on Friday it was 60 and when we finished today it was 72. Quite a change for those big fish.

All of our fish came on Deep Husky jerks 60 back and we trolled at 2.2mph. I assume you were doing something similar as you had no issue getting fish. Too bad you didn't get into the tournament as you would have likely cashed a cheque.

Later,
Shawn Hannah

Congratulations Shawn. We were fishing deep husky's as well.. 48 back and at 1.8 to 2.0. Blue, chrome with the orange belly. Saturday was my first trip to the Lake, fished Bay of Quinter the first two weekends and did well. Off Point Peninsul can be a good area when the fish are in, Steve usually fishes that area and a little to the north. He said in his interview that he concentrated on a 300 yard stretch, I will find out the real story when I seem him later this summer.

Maybe one of these years I will give the tournament a try. I dont put myself in the same class as you " professionals". Have a great day.

Congratulations Shawn, and man'oh man Steve Gould and partner sure put a beating on those big fish.

We had a program in practice and some nice walleye. On the first day of the tourney our spot only produced sheapshead as they had moved into the area over night. On the second day we knew we needed to move out into the Lake to get to cooler water but we did not want to move in or interfere with other teams that where competing for first place.

The people of Henderson Harbor where very hospitable and the crowds at the weight-in was very exciting. I look forward to heading down again to fish the area as we landed some huge walleye during pre-fishing.

Congrats to the Canucks for their showing.

Those are like Erie numbers for tournaments over there.

I'd like to echo what Shawn said. The few boats that were around us saturday were extremely courteous. We knew there would be more boats there on sunday but I didn't expect as many as showed up.

Steve and his partner Chris definitely had the program dialed in. A 40+ pound margin of victory has to be one of if not the largest ever in competition.
