We slammed them!! Great fishing, best we have had in quite a while.
Largest was a 31" 11lbs, probably a shade over(we don't have the best scale for weighing fish, we are getting a digital for next season). There was a 30" 10lb, a 27" & 29" both 10lb. All in all a great weekend.
Lagerlover got the 31" and heading to the taxidermist. Beat me by an inch, freaking jerk!!! hahahah Good job man!!

Ate good food, drank lots, had some fun at the Paisley Hotel, and can't wait for next season on the ice.

Young Tom you missed a good weekend, Im not sure if you came up with your dad and John Target, but if you didn't, you should have. Hopefully they had some luck to.

Until next season....

It is good to hear that people on Quinte have been catching large walleye again. Deseronto was definately the place to catch the fish during the past ice fishing season.

We were out under the bridge during the rain last week end but caught some nice fish as well. You might find if you actually stay in Deseronto that it is easier hear about the hot spots.

We stayed at the Bayview Inn in Deseronto and had a great time as well. We were only a walking distance from the fishing area.

See you next year.

Fisherman,

Deseronto has always produced big fish. Sometimes you
had to work harder and longer for them but that are there.

We have been fishing Deseronto for about 15-17 years.
Been going up there since I was 10 or 12 for softwater
and we used to slam them. We have a camper at Long Rach Campground.
We hardly go fishing in the spring and summer for Walleye anymore, its more of a winter vacation for us.

Lately to, the area seems to produce larger fish in the winter. Im not
saying you can't catch them in the summer but over the years we have
slowly shifted to the winter months for ice fishing and have caught
more and better fish. Once I get more time off I would like to try some summer fishing. I've heard late at night, midnight -2am, people have had good luck.

Oh well, time to get back to work

Tobias,

No, I did not travel with Dad or John. Work stuff and other things kept me from making the trip with them after he called me and let me know that you guys called down home to let us know the fish were "on"!!!!!!!
I wanted to come up very much since this was the last week of the season but couldn't get free.
He let me know that you were doing well.
We went fishing on Lake Walters today, near Springville, and finally caught a few meals worth of panfish and I told my fishing partner that all the fish we caught still wouldn't equal the weight of one nice BOQ "eye".
I very happy for you and the gang though for the success you had on the final week of the season. It's been awhile since we have had the success that you did.
Good job!! We'll be going up around May 10 for the second week of the opener. Maybe we'll see you up there then.

Young Tom
