On October the 28th of this year my S.O.S. fly club and representitives from the Canadian Fly fisher and the Quinte Bas masters did a huge river side clean up on the lower end of the Trent River. We managed to pick up almost a ton off garbage. We picked up a lot of plastic recycleable bottles and managed to get a lot of steel out of and from around the shore line. I'm very happy with the show up we had for volunteers and we did what I think was an excellent job. We did miss a bycicle and I dont how we did ,it is rite in plain site. I'll be sure to get it out this weekend.
THANKYOU to all that showed up . Next year (spring time) we are going to get at it again.
I would like to take this time to also thank the guys from the S.O.S. fly club that showed up to help with the Moira river clean up earlier this year. Again job welll done. Thanks a million guys.
Here are a few pics of what we picked up on the Trent River clean up. I'm sure you will agree after seeing these it needed to be done. Its all gone now.

What a fantastic job everyone did in order to clean things up in both rivers! Full kudos to all those who volunteered their time and effort to do this. Too bad that it had to be done- people should be a little more respectful and the aesthetically and environmentally when garbage/junk is tossed into the rivers! :x

GREAT JOB Skevys. Maybe next year post the timing of the cleanup on this board and few people who are interetsed in helping but not members of the clubs could show up to help. Just a thought.
