It was a great day for a picnic on the water! baygirl and I headed out at 11:15 from Sherman's Point launch, in shirtsleeves. Spoke to some people coming in. 15 boats out and nothing boated. We decided not to fish with the "crowd" and headed directly to the cement plant. Lots of fish marked in our 4 hours out. Started trolling with 200 feet out and no takers. Trolled over to Mallory Bay, and Thompson Point, (varying length of line from 50-200) to the yellow marker. Trolled at speeds of 1.2 - 2.5 mph. Tried yo-zuri, Man's Stretch 20; Rapala tail dancers. Came in at 3:30, and talked to someone who had caught a Sheephead. They were using jigs. They did not see anyone catching fish either. Lots of boats out; lots of fish marked; none biting....
Great day for a picnic, with my only keeper (baygirl my catch of a lifetime; and Baygirl the boat.)
