Hi everyone- great site looking forward to a trip this weekend to BOQ.
Staying at perfect vue first time fishing BOQ. I live on lake erie and have had an amazing year with the walleye ,limits throughtout the summer ! I`m looking for some tips on where to head to from perfect vue. On Erie we mainly use worm harness, but also spoons and sticks produce. We are use to using mast and boards as well as riggers. Any info on presentation and tackle would be greatly appreciated as i am going through a little walleye withdrawl !!! what channel do you use i`ll be on the side if you give me your call (swamp donkey)If anyone is interested in Erie fishing in the summer i can sure turn you on to some great action !

Hi Swampdonkey,

Welcome to the board and fishing in the Bay of Quinte. By the looks of your pics you hardly need any advice and if there is any advice I can give you it will be to come down and enjoy yourself.

I have fished Erie and the same methods will produce fish here. The dipsy method is well used in Erie and it is still fairly new here with some and a well kept secret with others. Use dipsy's in early stages and then boards all work extremely well.

Take care and we look forward to your posts when you hit the Quinte area.

Bets regards,
Sam

Swamp donkey

Welcome to Quintefishing.com.

Leaving Perfect Vue, watch the congregation of boats and look for schools of baitfish.

Reef-runners / TDD11 Taildancers have been doing well.

Some prefer Manns Stretch 20+

dipsys are working (as Sam mentioned) and planer boards are 'du jour'

Stay Tuned

You can catch the odd rainbow more so on the USA side. lots of smallmouth in the 5+ range. there are 4 good walleye tournies and a few bass ones. jumbo perch in the right times of the year are great !!

Hey Brother,

the Model and I will be up Friday night. We'll look for you on the water and perhaps stop in for a few happy pops. Holy Toledo and their neighbours from Bayview will also be up. Superdad will more than likely be fishing in the Total Package unless he wants to put his bateau in instead since it's supposed to rain all weekend and the Model doesn't want to get her hair wet, even though she "borrowed" my survival suit and refused to give it back. Either way, we'll see you this weekend.

Cheers
Ken & Jo
Very impressive Mr. SwampDonkey. What other fish are popular in Lake Erie?
Here is my report for last Saturday off one of the trib mouths on the PA shore:

Got boards out and lines set about 1/2 mile west of the 'Nut when all H(#%L starting breaking loose. board line trips and starts squealing, then the flat in the prop wash 60 back fires boated both. Before we could reset, board line on the opposite side fires. Before it hit the net, the freshly reset prop wash line fires again then 2 other board lines...Quadruple on!! Long story short, slightly deeper water than we normally like to fish held the most active fish. We boated all of our fish in 8 fow to 16 fow. Nothing hotter than anything else, but got 1 on a SS Buffalo Bill (thanks Pete), got many on orange J-9, got 3 or 4 on Chartreuse J-9 in the prop wash, got 3 on orange/gold Thin Fin, and 5 or 6 on pink/black Jr. Tstix off the boards. Very hot in the beginning, then slowed a bit, then fired back up again around 10:30 till we quit at noon. 4 limits in the box by 11am, only lost about 4 hook ups and released 3 or 4 on the way back to the launch.

Good finish to the last trip of the year for the Storm Warning. If weather and conditions permit, may try a few more times with the Quackback before season ends.

Steelhead are there in catchable numbers until ice up while trolling. Presque Isle Bay off Erie, PA will be really hot here in a week or two.
