Hi Everyone, I'm new to the board.

Could some one tell me the best place to launch near Picton, I will be launching a 20.5 ft Triton Walleye boat.

It requires more water than my bass boat and I'm getting a little nervous about driving all the way out there Sat. morning and spending time driving around looking for a suitable launch.

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,

Welcome to the board and hope you enjoy your stay here.

As for launching your boat you should be okay at Picton docks, there have been larger boats launched there this past week and you can also launch at the Ferry, should you head in that direction.

Best of luck fishing.

Regards,
Sam

Hi,

More than likely Sam is talking about the one right at the tip of the Picton harbor.
There is a launch on the picton side of the ferry by the marina though.

What is the parking situation at these two locations? I hope to come down from Montreal, possibly on a week day to try my luck on these hefty walleye.

Week days parking is no problem. Saturday or Sunday with low winds forecasted the parking can be a problem as many spots are taken.

Lund, If you're coming from Montreal get off the 401 at exit 599, go south on Wilton road all the way to the lake. Take a right onto the Loyalist Parkway (highway 33) and take it all the way to the ferry. The launch is to the right of the ferry and there are some spots to park right there or you can park up the first side street.

Happy trolling.
