I am back from a 3-day trip to BOQ. We had a blast, really! Overall we caught 15 walleyes and 1 pike. Biggest walleye was 10 pounds.

Stretch 20+ in Dr Death color caught 12 of the 16 fishes, others being caught on Reef Runners in either orange/chartreuse color or pink color.

Sounds like a great trip!

My dad and I were out on Saturday, and like Superdad found it darn tough fishing with a brutal east wind. Did you guys get any of your fish on Saturday? If so, when and where?

Cheers,
Pete

We caught 6 on Friday, 2 only on Saturday, and 8 today.

All were caught close to the cement plant. That spot was full of fish, as shown by the sonar.

JF,

I was thinking that the fish had relocated fromFri to Sat and I said to Ken, 'I'll bet they're over by the cement plant judging from which boats were fishing over there.

You guys had a good weekend - back soon???

C U on the water

Don't think I'll be able to go again this year unfortunately. My trip to Afghanistan was cancelled (I won't complain!) but I have to go on a ship for 2 weeks at the end of this month.

Here are some images taken those past days:

We caught all of them where the water depth was 30 to 40'.

All walleyes caught were taken on crankbaits Mann's Stretch 20+ color Dr Death (as seen on most of the pictures) and Reef Runners color purple or pink or silver, that were swimming between 10 and 20' bellow the surface.

We fished the area close to the cement plant. There, on the right, is a white buoy. We stayed in this area all weekend and it's there that we marked the most fishes at the same time on our fishfinder. We tried going past the ferry but there was a lot less, so we came back to our first spot for the rest of the trip.

Although by fishing West of the ferry we can only use one rod per fisherman, that didn't bother me at all because I learned a new trick this year that allow me to run 2 lures per rod...
