I was out yesterday. The Snow is not affecting the ice thickness right now. The snow is the issue. It is between 6 and 8 inches deep with some sections of slush. The problem is walking any distance, especially pulling a fully loaded portable ice hut as in my case. Your be glad to get to your fishing spot and glad to get back to your truck.

The old Church location has the best fishing right now but is the longest walk. Sherman's Point is the shortest walk with the best parking.

By the way, the fish are bitting.

Bring a 4 wheeler or snow machine and the snow won't be an issue.

Good Luck,

Well was going to try different area but loss the heads or tails toss and went back to point anne but tried out by the red bouy, same as in the a.m. little ice 4-5" with wet slushy areas. Some guys out driving a four wheeler around doubling with a plow on front HELLO 4"INCHS OF ICE.I forget to metion they had a power auger as well.came in handy on that 4"inchs of ice.LOL.Needless to say i caught nothing boy was that worth it.I was watching and in that area there was about 11 guys didn't see anyone doing the walleye scramble.Well with warm front and rain moving in be very carefull about where you go,the extra water will put alot of slush and weight on that thinner ice.I will be watching the weather and hoping it will stiffin up by the weekend.3 weekends to go boys it's coming quick,BE SAFE K.M.B.F.
