hey just a friendly reminder if you are running boards keep in mind that theres going to be alot of boats alround so try and keep it respectful and dont run your boards 4 or 500ft of from your boats where all out there to have fun and trying to catch the big one.GOOD LUCK & SAFE FISHING. :

8O Wow...500 feet out from the side of the boat. How do you stop the line from drag'n in the water? Also if the boat traffic is that heavy I can't see how planner boards would help. The walleye would be spooked and would be looking for areas to hide and stay out of the way of motors and boats... hrrm I think I will head out into lake ontario and look for suspended eyes, and stay away from the boats.

good luck'

I don't have a problem with folks running boards way out to the side as long as they adjust them trolling through congested areas.
The thing that has happened to me on occasion is not seeing the boards in the water till the last minute because they removed the flags. I see one boat out there quite often who has what looks to be like home made boards. They sit quite low in the water, are painted black and are without flags. Very hard to see till you are almost on top of them.

Lake Ont. was my plan A, but I think we will end up with plan C tonight and fish the high shore with everybody else and practice the rules of the road.

Small craft using downriggers might want to keep the sidecutters handy if their in the rough stuff.
