Quinte Fishing

Just got back from the opener. We got 3 walleye on Saturday. 2.5lbs(Kevin), 4lbs(me), 9.22lbs(Marco). Weighed the big one in the derby, a bit too small. All released. Caught the two smaller ones in the mouth of Napanee River. One on a Lucky Craft pointer, one on a crawler harness. Big one came on a Reef Runner deep diver off the board over Thompson's Hole. Got 4 pike, biggest 8lbs on Saturday as well. LOTS of followers. All released as well.

Saturday night, three guys in a brand new princecraft cut across our lines in the Napanee(on plane). Spooled Kevins Abu C3 of 200+ yards of 50LB test powerpro and one husky jerk. Hope they enjoy changing prop seals! Running 30' behind someone who is quite clearly trolling is just plane ignorant. They never even slowed down.

Got two more pike on Sunday, no walleye. Still the best action we've had on opening weekend in several years.

Two other walleyes in the over 9pd. category were also caught in the Thompson Point area. Alaways interesting to note relative location and what has taken the larger fish. Larger baits....larger fish.....a silly but consistent observation.
