Fished Hay Bay area this past Friday and Saturday. Caught 18 walleye, mostly in the slot. Released all fish. Fishing was slow Friday until the wind picked up in the evening. Weather cool to cold and wind was out of the north east, no rain. Although I was hoping for a west wind rather then the east wind we established our usual troll/drift walleye pattern with the wind. Trolled the north shoreline in the narrow neck across from Pickeral Park into the wind with no. 7 silver shad rap and drifted back using cheap Walmart 2 hook orange worm harness Lindy rigged. Fish caught in 8-14 feet usually near new weed growth. Most fish caught were in about 12 feet. About 6 walleye on the troll the rest on the drift. Plenty of pike on the troll too. Pattern held all day Saturday. Wind died down Saturday night just before sunset and pattern stopped just in time to watch the hockey game. Didn’t bother going right into the Bay. Too many boats and from what I could tell none of those guys were catching. Also didn’t bother heading to Shermans or further as there seemed to be no need. How did everyone else do?
