It wasn't last weekend it was yesterday. It was the first event of the The Quinte Fishing Series. There were 29 teams and the "T" was run out of Deseronto. The rules were 2 fish over and 2 fish under or 1 over and 3 under or 4 fish under.

Would like to say congrats to you. It was a very tough day for some, myself included. Had some motor problems and could not troll without the alarm going off, so we did not venture to far just in case. Tried jigging some shoals and the we bottom-bounced cranks from the mouth of the river all the way to the bridge and got nothing, not even a hit. Any secrets you used or were the fish just there at the righ time????? Congrats again. Thank god the real fishing starts soon

I was fishing the same spot as 3 other teams. I think the only difference was the jigging style. I found I could not catch fish if the jig was not absolutely vertical. This was challenging as the river was flowing south and the wind was NE. Had to use the trolling motor constantly to keep on top of the jig. The jig was 3/8 bucktail tipped with a minnow. Basically the very same style as "wayne" posted on here earlier.

Same style used by Rocket and myself Dan. HAD to be vertical and right on bottom. The telegraph just got too rough later in the day. Had both our fish by 7:20am.....after the rain started we didn't even get a sniff.

Congrats to ya, those sure were some nice fish you weighed in.
