Planning a large group of fisherman for the first weekend in January. Can we count on solid ice?

A large group of us are going to be coming from Pennsylvania the firts weekend in January and we wanted to make sure that the ice was suitable.

Any up dates on ice fishing in Deseronto area would be very helpful.

George

Hi George,

My house backs onto the bay 1 mile west of Deseronto.
I can tell you that last Friday the bay was wide open. On Friady night the temp dropped to minus 15 ( celsius) and the Bay froze over completley. I thought that it would stay frozen, but it has gotten mild again this week plus 7 ( celsius). We really need to have a cold snap again minus 15 for 2-4 nights would do it. I'll do my best to keep you posted.

Happy Holidays
Go Fish

Thanks Go Fish,

You gave us exactly the news we need to hear.

If you can keep us informed we would appreciate it. Seems like the ice condictions can change from day to day.

Bye for now,

George
